Convert PDF into AI-ready tags

Upload your PDF. We extract the text, then you assign meaning to each format and get tagged output for ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini — same flow as Text to Tags.

Upload PDF, then assign meanings and copy output

Upload your PDF

Choose a PDF file. We extract the text and show it below. Then click Parse formatting, assign a meaning to each format (if any), and Generate to get AI-ready tagged output.

Assign meaning to each format

Map each style to a meaning (e.g. red = Answer, bold = Question). Only formats in your text are listed.

Upload a PDF and click Parse formatting to see detected formats.

Copy AI-ready tagged output

Plain text with semantic tags. Copy and paste into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a PDF to tags for ChatGPT or AI?
Yes. Use PDF to Tags: upload your PDF, we extract the text in your browser, then you assign meaning to each format (e.g. bold = Question, red = Answer) and generate. Copy the tagged output and paste into ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini so the AI keeps your structure.
Why does my PDF show “No text could be extracted”?
That usually means the PDF is image-only (e.g. a scanned invoice or a photo of a document). We can only extract text from PDFs that have a text layer. Try a PDF where you can select and copy text, or copy the text manually and use Text to Tags instead.
How do I turn a PDF into AI-ready format?
Upload the PDF on this page. We extract the text, you click Parse formatting, assign a meaning to each style (e.g. headings = Section, bold = Question), then Generate text and copy. The result is plain text with semantic tags — an AI-readable format you can paste into any AI tool.
Can I use PDF to Tags for invoices or documents?
Yes. PDF to Tags works for any PDF with selectable text: invoices, reports, contracts, or notes. Upload the file, assign meanings to formats (e.g. amounts, dates, line items), and get tagged output for summarization or analysis in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini.
Is my PDF stored or sent to a server?
No. Text extraction runs in your browser only. We do not upload, store, or see your PDF or its content.
Is PDF to Tags free?
Yes. Use it in your browser with no sign-up.
How do I report a bug?
Please report bugs via GitHub issues. We’ll look into it as soon as we can.
